Mindustry is at its best when the factory does not disappear with the usual host. A dedicated server keeps your production lines, core defenses and progress available around the clock, so friends can build and defend together without leaving a personal PC running.

Self-hosting means installing Java, keeping the server version matched with every player, forwarding port 6567 over both TCP and UDP, and making sure a map is actually hosted after a restart. A stable version and a recoverable world

Mindustry is cross-platform, but clients on a different build cannot join. The managed server records the upstream release it installed and keeps automatic bleeding-edge updates off. When a new release is ready for your group, the panel can check and apply it deliberately instead of changing the build underneath players on mobile or desktop.

Automatic saves are retained on the server and restored on a restart. A new server begins with a random survival map; for a planned world, upload a compatible .msav file in Files and use the live console to reload maps and host it.

Settings, votekicks and custom clients

The panel exposes the settings that shape a Mindustry community: server description, player cap, pause when empty, vote kicks and whether custom clients are allowed. Pause when empty is on by default so an unattended world is not burning CPU while nobody is connected.

The custom clients toggle is the one to think about for a public server. Leaving it on is friendlier to players running modified clients, and turning it off is the usual first step when a public map starts attracting griefers.

Regions and flexible billing

Pick Europe or North America based on where most of your players are. Mindustry sends a lot of small updates once a factory is large and units are moving, so a shorter route keeps the map feeling responsive during waves.

Choose pay once or optional automatic renewal. A pay-once server stops at the end of its term, while a subscription renews for the amount and cadence accepted at checkout until you cancel.
