A battlefield that stays online for the whole unit
A player-hosted session depends on one person keeping their machine and game open. A dedicated Arma Reforger server gives the group a fixed address, a persistent profile and a service that keeps running when the mission maker logs off.
GHosting installs Bohemia Interactive's official native Linux server from Steam app 1874900 in an isolated container. The runtime can be replaced by a managed update without replacing the profile, downloaded addons or server configuration.
PC and console crossplay by default
Crossplay is enabled on new servers so PC, Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 players can use one compatible Reforger build and mod set. You can switch it off for a PC-only community, hide the server from the public browser, or protect it with a separate join password.
The in-game admin password is independent of the join password. Both are encrypted in GHosting's database and only decrypted when the server configuration is written inside your private container.
Bohemia Workshop mods from links, not mystery folders
Open the Mods tab and paste an official Reforger Workshop link or its 16-character hexadecimal ID. GHosting checks the item against Bohemia's official Workshop, shows its real title, version, download size and dependency count, then saves a clean ID list into the server config.
Applying the list performs one restart. Reforger downloads the current packages and their dependencies into a persistent addon directory, and clients joining the server receive the matching set. Removing a mod removes it from the active configuration without letting a Steam runtime update replace all downloaded data.
- Official Bohemia Workshop links and bare 16-character IDs accepted
- Current title, version, size, download count and dependencies shown before apply
- One Save and restart action, with no half-applied mod list
Both public UDP ports are part of the server
Reforger gameplay listens on the allocated UDP port. Steam A2S browser queries listen on the next UDP port. A server can be running while discovery tools fail if only the first one is forwarded, so treating A2S as an optional afterthought creates a hard-to-diagnose launch.
GHosting reserves a three-number span before the container is created, forwards it with kernel NAT and waits for both required listeners before the installation is marked ready. The third number is ready for authenticated UDP RCON and stays closed until you set its encrypted password. The port checker understands the gameplay-plus-query layout.
Scenarios and performance controls in one config
Choose from current official Conflict, Game Master and Combat Ops scenarios, then tune player slots, server and network view distance, grass distance, AI count, join queue size, third-person view, public visibility and BattlEye. Fast addon validation stays enabled so mismatched clients fail clearly rather than entering with incompatible content.
Arma simulation load is not predicted by player count alone. AI, vehicles, independently active parts of the map and large Workshop packages all consume CPU and memory, which is why the plans start at 8 GB and four vCPU rather than advertising an unrealistic tiny tier.
Prepaid terms and practical recovery
Plans are prepaid and never renew automatically. Squad fits a smaller vanilla unit, Platoon gives a 32-player or modded group more working room, and Company is for larger communities or heavier scenarios. You can upgrade without moving the server data.
When a term ends the server stops and its files remain during the seven-day grace window. Renew in that window and the same configuration, profile and downloaded Workshop set return. Past it the server is deleted, so download anything you want to keep before a long break. Your first server is covered by a 72-hour money-back guarantee.
